A VFX project
This eight-second CGI shot, created entirely from scratch, depicts a massive wave flooding a Brooklyn street late at night. The scene starts with the quiet, dark city, before the wave crashes through with overwhelming force. I focused on capturing the scale and power of nature clashing with the urban landscape, with every detail—from the water’s movement to the moon light reflections—designed to enhance the realism. The nighttime setting adds an eerie atmosphere, contrasting the calm city with the destructive power of the wave.
From modeling to fluid simulation
For this shot, I modeled every element of the scene from the ground up, including the buildings, street lights, and various objects scattered throughout the environment. Each structure was carefully designed to fit the urban aesthetic of the streets of Brooklyn.
In this phase, I focused on refining the scene with detailed shaders and materials, enhancing textures and surface qualities. I also fine-tuned the final lighting, adjusting shadows and highlights to create the perfect atmosphere and ensure every element felt naturally integrated.
